Colt joined Krigare and Coach Jensen asked me what position Colt had been playing, to which I indicated third base and left- and center-fields.  Coach Jensen stated boldly, “He’s a shortstop.  He moves like a shortstop.”  I wasn’t going to argue! Three years later and he’s still improving at the shortstop position, primarily because of the fielding mechanics and situational awareness that Coach Jensen has taught, instilled, and drilled through structured practices and genuine care in the development of my son.  He has helped build up his confidence in the field, in the batters’ box, and even on the mound.

Coach Jensen isn’t a yeller and a win-at-all costs type of coach, so if that’s what’s you are looking for, you might want to move along.  He is fair and objective when it comes to playing time, giving everyone a chance to try new things when the timing is right, and is more interested in the development of his players than selling out to chase plastic rings.  The “rings” he chases are turning young boys into young adults, while turning them into better ballplayers along the way.

We started working with Marcus 1-on-1, developing the correct mechanics for hitting, and the "whole body approach" we needed to adopt to improve my son's fitness.

Marcus taught and reinforced the idea that to improve, hard work and consistency was necessary.

Since my son's skills set improved, he was able to join a club team of Krigare Athletics, the organization founded and led by Marcus. Since joining the organization, I got to appreciate how Marcus' approach in the 1-on-1 sessions translated to team practice. Over the past 6 years, both our boys have received training from Marcus unlike any other. Krigare has taught our son so much about the sport of baseball. From the classroom lessons to practices, to the games, we have no regrets with the Krigare organization! Our son has confidence on the field and this stems from all of the teaching Krigare taught him. We have since moved to a new state and to have our son’s new coaches talk repeatedly about how he has a high baseball IQ and how he plays is truly from all that Krigare taught him. After our son Brady’s first lesson with Marcus, he called us on his way home and said… “This guy is LEGIT…” Not only did Marcus’s lessons focus on the fine-tuning of hitting, throwing, fielding, and catching, he also focused on a nutrition plan and “challenging” workouts — workouts MUCH more challenging than anything he gets at school. B now better understands the importance of nutrition, has changed his method of eating as well as his entire approach to workouts. But more than that, the confidence he walked away with for hitting and catching from the time he spent with Marcus, is invaluable. As parents, it’s challenging to help your kids with “confidence”, but Marcus speaks teenager — and he DEFINITELY made the difference.
